Rick Lopez, the long time trusted voice of the Conchs, was born in Norfolk Virginia. Rick grew up in the military and played football, basketball and baseball in high school, moving to Key West his senior year. After graduating from Key West High School, Rick got his first job in radio as a DJ at a top 40 station in 1986. Rick moved up quickly and spent several years working in New York City before coming home to Key West for good in 1997 to raise his son. In 1998, Rick became the voice of the Conchs, calling all football and baseball games on WKWF for his Alma Mater. In 2001, Conch Town Live went on the air and has been the flag ship program for WKWF ever since. Rick has been and continues to talk to all the important figures in Key West sports, past and present since Conch Town Live’s debut.

Although Rick was not born in Key West, he is as Conch as you get. Rick and his wife Winnie live in Key West with their two children, Charlie and Ty. Rick’s oldest son Tony is a graduate of the University of West Florida and was the starting left fielder for the Conch’s State Championship baseball team in 2005.
