The Good a Health Clinic exists to a ddress the local need to take care of our friends and neighbors who find affordable health care out of their current reach. The individuals the Goo d Health Clinic cares for are not only the homeless\, but also many of the “working poor” in our community. These patients work in the dive\, fishin g\, hospitality\, and the self-employed industries that typically have low \, irregular pay and no employer covered health insurance. Many of these p rofessions are essential to the culture and amenities provided in the Flor ida Keys\, yet the workers struggle to pay for the basic needs\, particula rly in the high cost living areas. When individuals have access to prevent ative care and chronic disease management through primary care they are ab le to live the happier\, healthier\, more productive lives.

Firefighters IAFF (International Association of Fire Fighters) 1424 Local
Chapter. On September 11th\, 2015\, we will be hosting our seco
nd annual community hardship fund benefit. The event is completely organiz
ed by local firefighters. It is sponsored by the generosity of the Key Wes
t business community. All donations and proceeds will go directly to our l
ocal IAFF 1424 Hardship Fund to help support and better the lives of local
community members. This fund helps fellow Key West citizens in their utmo
st time of need to help cover the losses due to house fires\, car accident
s\, sudden deaths\, and medical emergencies. Just in the last year alone\,
the IAFF 1424 Hardship Fund has generously donated to a local thirty year
old firefighter battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia\, a beloved prescho
oler battling Wilms cancer for the second time in his three short years of
life\, and helped alleviate some of the financial stress countless local
families face due unexpected home fires.
\n
